Bibhuti Chand Thakur
Founder/Director/President
Our main donor and sponsor for one of the most successful eye surgical camps in Nepal Dooley Intermed foundation, has been supporting us financially and helping organize rural eye camps in some of the remotest regions of West Nepal like Upper Mustang. Lead by Mr. Scott Hamilton, with his brilliant team of Doctors and volunteers all the way from USA, have been successfully performing eye surgeries in some of the remotest parts of Nepal. We the team of Mission Himalaya, are grateful to the team of Dooley, for their visionary ideas and making such rural camps successful.
Charu Chand Thakur
Founder/Vice-President
Educated in St. Mary’s High School, Kathmandu, Charu completed her Senior Cambridge in 1980 from the same institute. She attended the Tri–Chandra Multiple Campus, Kathmandu for Intermediate in Science with Biology as major and Bachelor in Sociology and Psychology. Obtained her Bachelor in Education (B. Ed) with Major in School Administration and completed her Masters in Sociology from Tribhuvan University.Charu started her career as a teacher in 1984 from Kinder Hearts School, joined I.J Pioneer School as one of the Pioneer teachers in 1985 and continued to work as a teacher till 1989. While working as an Administration and Marketing Director for Himalayan Holidays Group, Charu along with her husband Bibhu and daughter Karishma, formed the concept for the Eco home for Orphaned kids. This dream project soon became a reality after forming their very own not-for-profit organization Mission Himalaya. Before become a social entrepreneur, Charu had been actively involved in many social and charity based organizations, like the Mother’s Club- a non-governmental-non-profit organization. Before starting her own project under Mission Himalaya, Charu was actively supporting the New Youth Development Society orphanage. Charu loves to read, write, teach, travel, go trekking, hiking, river rafting, jungle safari, enjoys cooking, has ‘green thumb’ and loves nature.

Karishma Chand Thakur
Treasurer
An Msc. degree holder in Project Management and IT Engineering from Fairfield University,U.S.A; Karishma is a very hard working and dedicated member of our organization. Who has introduced us, to helping orphaned children since the age of 16, she discovered her passion in the field of Volunteerism and social work. Her contribution in the line of social service and volunteerism is remarkable, with years of collaborated work with poverty alleviation projects, Karishma does not hesitate to go out and beyond to reach out to those in need and hear their plight. Her creative lead and ideas, is what makes our websites, newsletters and social media sites, so vibrant and up to date. She brings in stories and real life experiences of victims, survivors from some of the remotest parts of Nepal and writes about them. She is also a very talented photographer and contributes her articles and photos to various magazines. Karishma is truly an asset to this organization.
